    Jessica Hawkins can do no wrong as she continues to build on the angst fest that she started in Something In The Way. I love this author's ability to consume me in everything she writes. My head loves her books and always looks forward to her new releases yet my heart fears reading them as it knows it will be put through it paces and violated in only a way Jessica's writing can. I also fear for my kindle because it's not 'if' I will want to throw it but 'when'! We hear more from Manning's POV than Lakes in this release and my heart just bleeds out for both of them. But damn if I didn't fallen in love with Manning even more. Manning is just a poor tortured soul. You can feel the passion between him and Lake oozing off the page, it's intense, fiery and palpable. Every time I write a review I say Jessica is queen of the slow burn and she really has excelled this time. I can't even see how the characters are going to come back from the situation that this book has left them in! I love the unpredictability with this story. Even the secondary characters are holding my attention but my god I really want to slap Tiffany. Hard! AND OMG! What an ending! I can't believe where this story ended. Jessica, you are not my favourite person right now! Her books always leave me with the biggest book hangover ever. It takes me days to calm my nerves and start functioning normally without dwelling on parts of the story. In my last review I said that this book was on par with SOTT with the level of frustration running through it... Not any more, this book exceeds SOTT by miles. This book is her best yet and now I have to wait 6 months for the concluding part... That in itself is another form of torture!! Well done Jessica you have outdone yourself this time round!!
