Tough guys doing a tough job, in an all consuming environment. It bought back lots of fond memories of similar British experiences.
Gripping and even better then the movie
Just like you expect, but more detail and better
An inspiring read that will touch the heart and sole of even the toughest. I felt the joy, the sorrow and the compassion. We may not all be SEALS but we can learn from their strength and that of the ordinary Afghan tribesman who's humanity and extraordinary sense of right outshines the evil men that surround their homes in the beautiful peaceful mountains of the Hindu Kush.

Having seen ML being interviewed by Anderson Cooper, he came across as a very honest and sincere SEAL operator and therefore I bought the book. This was the first time I have read a book of this nature since the infamous Bravo 2 Zero and by comparison, this is a better read. Full of patriotism, sincerity, pride and professionalism, it gives you a good account of just what some of the Special Forces were doing in the face of some severe opposition in arduous and volatile terrain.
Worth the read as is "No Easy Day" by Mark Owen whereby you get an even better insight into Tier 1 American Special Forces.
Better than the movie, as always
Great read, very much a page turner. Heroic doesn't go far enough to describe the actions recalled in this book. And a surprising little fact about the Pashtun tribal law, that allowed this story to be told will make you think again about the afghan people who abide by it.

This book reads like an American made movie script but if you can get past this and read the story it is an incredible tale of bravery at its highest. These soldiers who fight for their country are unsung heros. Maximum respect.
