    Considering I got this book for free, I wasn't sure what the quality would be. It turned out to be an incredible story of one woman's journey through her early life as well as on the trail. It was thought provoking, sad, uplifting and very well written and I couldn't put it down. I really felt like I had accompanied her every step of the way.

    I was mourning a parent when I found this book and so I was immediately drawn to Cheryl's wild journey. She is funny, honest and occasionally eye-rollingly unprepared for what the trail throws at her and she managed it anyway. I think her journey helped mine, I escaped into her book, lacking the strength to escape into the wild. I wish there were more stories like this.

    Impressive trail adventures but the background story that the author obviously felt was needed to sell the book was not compelling and downright annoying in its self-absorbed childish prattle. Stick to telling the story about the PCT, the other stuff is fluff.
